We strongly support your right to privacy in Figures.
We are in the business of building and selling software, not your information. We try to collect as little data as possible while providing you a great experience. When we do collect information, we try to be clear about why it's being collected and give you a way to opt out.
Support Interactions
When you reach out for support, we collect:
- your email address (or username if you contact us via another service like Twitter)
- metadata attached to the message
- any information you provide voluntarily (like crash logs)
The information is collected to help solve your support question and communicate with you about it. We retain emails and other communication indefinitely in order to:
- help us answer future questions you may have
- identify trends that help us improve the software

Update Checking
If you purchased the app through the Mac App Store, update checking is managed by the operating system. In that case, all information is processed by Apple.
If you purchased the app via direct download from our website, a request for updates is sent occasionally by default. The request contains the app name and version number to identify whether an update is available. The operating system you're using is also sent to be sure it's compatible with the latest version. Update checking in the direct download version of the app can be turned off in the preferences window.
Backups
Data we collect is backed up in case of a catastrophic data loss event. Personal information that has been deleted may continue to persist in backups for up to 3 months. This backup information is never accessed unless a significant data loss event has occurred, and the backup data must be restored.
Third-Party Services
To get information about personal information collected by any third-party services we use, please contact them directly.
- Sales transactions are handled by Paddle.
- Collection and aggregation of crash reports is provided by App Center.
- Update checking for direct download purchases is provided by the Sparkle framework.
- Currency rate updates are provided by CurrencyLayer.
- Payment and update checking for Mac App Store purchases is managed by Apple.
Opting Out
If you'd like to exercise your rights under a right-to-privacy regulation such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), please contact us at contact@tryfigures.com. We honor all such requests to remove your data from our systems.
Our website and app are directed to people who are at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of 13, per the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, do not use this website.
