Is There a Trial Version?

Yes! Get a 30-day free trial (!! link !!) and see what you think. When you're ready to purchase, go to Figures > Purchase… in the menu bar. You can also get Figures from the Mac App Store (!! link !!).

What's the Difference Between the Direct and App Store Versions?

The functionality of the app is the same no matter where you purchase it. However, the 30-day free trial is only available on the website. Figures is a one-time purchase with no additional costs, and Apple doesn't offer a trial program for this kind of app.
